Frontier models are improving rapidly, but enterprise advantage increasingly depends on how models are integrated with proprietary data, governance, workflows, and human decision structures.

Frontier model capability attracts attention because it is easy to benchmark. Enterprise value is harder to measure: it appears in the quality of proprietary context, the reliability of retrieval, the design of workflows, and the ability of people to understand and challenge an output.

RAG, security controls, evaluation, cost-performance choices, and governance are therefore not supporting details. They are the architecture around the model. An organization may choose a capable model and still produce a fragile system if its data boundaries, permissions, or escalation paths are unclear.

The model is becoming only one layer of the enterprise AI architecture. Sustainable advantage will come from the integration of model capability with organizational knowledge, trusted data, accountable workflows, and human oversight.
